Pre & Postnatal Care

If you and your partner decide to give birth in a hospital, Hands to Heart Midwifery is one of the only practitioners in Colorado who provides additional and continuous midwifery care in collaboration with your OB-GYN throughout pregnancy and in your postpartum period – up to 6 weeks after birth.

I personally believe that every woman has a right for midwifery care, no matter where she decides to give birth. The first 6 weeks after your baby is born is a very critical time in the life of your new family. Continuous support with a midwife you have already built a trusted relationship with during pregnancy can have a tremendous positive impact on Mom and baby during this sensitive time.

Additionally, many studies and research have shown that additional pre- and postnatal midwifery care has many positive outcomes for Mama and Baby. Those include lower risks of cesarean section and preterm birth, longer breastfeeding periods, lower rates of postpartum depression and an integrative approach to pregnancy, birth and postpartum from your midwife.

• 5 prenatal appointments in my office (or more if you wish)

• 4 postpartum appointments (includes 1 visit at your home)
